This week Slocum's softball team played a non-district game at Van. They didn't pull the win out, but they played great! This Friday, both the softball and baseball teams are playing games against Grapeland. The girls will be traveling there to try to maintain there perfect district record, and the boys will be playing at home as they fight for a playoff position. Good Luck Mustangs!!

Mrs. Becton and Mrs. Gean's Pre-K classes have had a full week. The students took a field trip to the Livestock Show and to the Grapeland Wildlife Safari. They also reviewed their caterpillers this week, and they will be watching them grow into butterflies. The students have also been learning about other animals, and Friday they all tried to jump as far as a kangaroo! Sounds like a blast!

On April 10-14, Slocum FFA attended the ACYLA Livestock Show. The students did very well showing their animals and many ribboned and made sale. All together, the students brought in $12,950 at the ACYLA Premium Sale.

Britni Haley raced in the Area track meet on April 13. She competed in the 300 meter race, and qualified for the regional meet in Palestine which will be held May 2-3.
